About
Shin Huey is a physiotherapist with over 18 years of experience in treating a wide array of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions in all age groups, from newborns to adults.
She has been the team lead for Musculoskeletal Unit for the Physiotherapy department in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) for more than 15 years. Shin Huey was pivotal in developing and shaping the Paediatric Musculoskeletal services in KKH, and tripled the team size over the years.
During her tenure in KKH, she developed numerous clinical protocols and guidelines for the Musculoskeletal team and Doctors. Shin Huey established the Multi-Disciplinary Clinics for Juvenile Arthritis, Haemophilia, Clinical Gait & Movement Laboratory. She is a firm believer in providing value care and quality service to patients and constantly seeks ways to innovate and simplify processes to provide better care and outcomes to patients.
Shin Huey was awarded the National Day Award 2020 – The Efficiency Medal, as well as numerous Service Quality Awards: 2016 Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Silver), 2010 Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Gold), 2009 Excellent Service Award (Star).
Shin Huey derives satisfaction from aiding her clients in minimizing and controlling their pain or injury, while also working together with them to discover the most efficient means to achieve the lifestyle they aspire to.
Shin Huey and her family have a passion for exploring the world through caravan trips and camping adventures.
She is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Passion in Physiotherapy and Active Involvement in Sports
How it all started
Shin Huey has been an active sports player since she was young and participated in volleyball and track & field events during her teenage years. A back injury during her high jump training led her to cross paths with physiotherapy, which helped her with her pain and injury. This sparked her passion for physiotherapy and made her determined to help others recover from injuries and regain movement and health.
Shin Huey provides sports coverage for Standard Chartered Runs, World Badminton Championships, and Army half marathons. She has a special interest in movement and gait analysis.
